(ADOPTION PENDING!)  This 5 mo. old female, cattle dog/border collie mix, Dixie May, needs a foster or adopter! She was surrendered because she is too exhuberant for her family with two toddlers. She has knocked the little ones over during play, and owner is anxious to find alternate placement and has surrendered her to the county shelter.  Dixie does currently have a lot of unchanneled energy, but she is just a happy playful pup, who is also very willing to please and does know basic commands.  She would do great with someone with herding dog experience who can give her the direction and engagement she needs.
 
Her former family has agreed to have her for just a few more days, before they physically take her to the Madera County (CA) Shelter, which is full, and no place for a puppy! If you can take her in even for a short time to help this pup from  experiencing the terror of being in a shelter kennel, please contact:
