Daisy is an Australian Cattle Dog through and through. True to her breed, she is very loyal to her people and once you have established your leadership she is respectful of your authority.

Daisy is a 1 year old, spayed/female.  She is a very sweet girl and has melted the heart of her current foster.  Daisy is also deaf.  She was found on the roadside and has been in foster for 2 months.

As an adolescent, Daisy will will need a consistent, fair and strong leader to guide her down the right path, as well as one who is wiling to work with her hearing impairment. Daisy has learned many hand cues; sit, down. go to bed, wait, come, touch, positive signal marker, negative signal marker, and a release.   A trainers dream!  She is very intelligent and a quick study.

Daisy is also very well-behaved...for an adolescent.  She does push boundaries.  What adolescent doesn't?  She has a great sense of humor and is quite the prankster. Daisy is very busy exploring anything of interest.  She loves food stuffed toys and puzzles and figures them out in rapid speed. She is very quick to develop games to play with herself using whatever she can find; she will empty out the toy box looking for just the right object for her next game.

Once she knows what you are asking of her she is eager to do her best.  However; if you are not actively being a leader she will assume the dominant dog role.  Daisy will need to be monitored with other dogs until pack order is agreed upon. She is not happy taking a backseat and may very well attempt to put herself in charge whenever others are involved.

Daisy does not aggressively guard resources from other dogs; but she will control their movement to keep other dogs from accessing resources, including 'her' people.  Her new family should be experienced with cattle dogs or, at the very least, herding dogs; and will need to have a strong background or interest in positive reinforcement training.  Experience with deaf dogs is a plus.  All of this makes Daisy a very special adoption.
