Meet Tober! (ADOPTED!) He is a 11-month-old (birthday is 3/5/21), 48 lb. Australian cattle dog mix, currently in San Luis Obispo, CA. He is a very happy boy and always smiling!  As a very friendly and sweet dog, he is a lover who attaches quickly to whoever his “parent” is.  His facial expressions are adorable and you can almost understand him through those.

Tober is great with other dogs, who become his best friend immediately. He is a very quiet boy and an empathetic soul around other dogs and people. When at the dog park, if another dog is barking, Tober will approach with concern to make sure he/she is ok. He loves kids, but his youthful energy might do better with older kids. Although we have no first hand knowledge, we were told that as a puppy, Tober lived in a home with cats and was fine with them.

He is a very curious boy with lots of energy and loves to explore. He thrives with lots of mental & physical stimulation and loves playing at the beach. He walks well on leash, and is great in the car and tends to fall asleep on car rides. Tober’s current person has given Tober some training, but as a young pup, he could alway benefit from more.  He has great recall, is completely potty trained, and knows a few commands.

He would love to live in a home that has lots of space to run and play as well as someone or other dogs to play with. He loves night time snuggles, chewing on bones, and adores playing fetch with any sized ball (especially ones that squeak). He has gotten used to sleeping on people beds at night, so it may take some time to get him used to a dog bed.

He needs to find a new home because his current owner does not have the time or space to give Tober what he needs. She works out of the house 8-9 hours a day and has no yard for him. She knows he needs and deserves those things and is happy to “foster” him until the right home is found. Tober is up to date on all his vaccinations and has been neutered.

Tober is currently located in the San Luis Obispo, CA, area. Transportation can be worked out!  If you are interested in learning more or meeting Tober, please contact Allie at 1 (562) 881-8568, or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
